What is a node on the WIN Blockchain?

In most blockchain networks, a "node" is a computer that validates transactions and maintains a copy of the ledger. On the WIN Blockchain, the term refers to a participation product — a BlockBot or Droid — that represents an account's place in the network and its eligibility to earn rewards through the Proof of Action model.

Nodes do not require you to run server hardware. The network infrastructure is maintained by Connect United and its node operator community. What you are purchasing when you acquire a node product is a participation stake in the reward and governance system.

BlockBot vs Droid: what is the difference?

Both products operate on the WIN Blockchain and participate in the Proof of Action reward model. The differences are in access level and governance rights:

BlockBot

The primary node tier. BlockBot owners receive weekly Learn2Earn access — a new lesson every seven days. They hold full governance voting rights under the Distributed Governance Framework Charter and vote on reward parameters and community pool allocations.

Droid

The entry-level node option. Droid owners receive monthly Learn2Earn access — one lesson per month. Droids participate in the Proof of Action reward model. Governance rights may differ from BlockBot — check the current DGF Charter at win.node-governance.io for specifics.

What is Proof of Action?

Proof of Action (PoA) is the WIN Blockchain's consensus and reward model. Unlike Proof of Work (which rewards computational power) or Proof of Stake (which rewards token holdings), Proof of Action rewards demonstrated participation.

In practice, this means: to earn rewards, you must complete verified actions. The most common action is the Learn2Earn cycle — watch the lesson, pass the quiz, complete the action step, submit verification. This produces an on-chain NFT credential and earns the associated reward.

The intent behind Proof of Action is to prevent passive wealth accumulation from concentrated token holdings. Larger holdings do not automatically earn more — participation does.

How are rewards calculated and distributed?

Reward parameters on the WIN Blockchain are set by node owner governance votes through the DGF, not by Connect United's management unilaterally. The current parameters at any time are publicly visible in governance records at win.node-governance.io.

Key facts about the reward structure:

  • WIN has a fixed maximum supply of 50 billion tokens — no inflationary issuance beyond this cap
  • Built-in halving mechanisms reduce emission rates over time, similar in principle to Bitcoin's halving schedule
  • Halving schedule changes require a governance vote — they cannot be changed unilaterally
  • Rewards are distributed in WIN tokens to node owner wallets
